Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 4 cups cold water
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
- 2 tablespoons vanilla extract
- 1–3 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (adjust to your sweetness preference)
- Ice for serving
- Lemon slices and fresh mint for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the strawberries: Start by hulling and slicing your fresh strawberries.
- Blend your base: In a blender, combine the sliced strawberries, cold water, fresh lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Blend on high until smooth.
- Sweeten to taste: Slowly add honey or agave syrup to your mixture, blending until you reach your preferred sweetness.
- Strain (optional): Optionally, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher to remove seeds or pulp.
- Chill and serve: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Serve over ice, garnishing with lemon slices and fresh mint.
- Enjoy: Sip your Strawberry Agua Fresca and let the flavors transport you to sun-soaked days.
Notes
This agua fresca can be prepared a day in advance. Use ripe strawberries for the best flavor. Experiment with garnishes!
