Description

A delightful and moist Spiced Chai Cake infused with warm chai tea flavors, topped with rich brown butter cream cheese frosting.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup chai tea, brewed and cooled
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown butter cream cheese frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the flour, baking powder, spices, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the chai tea and milk.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and smooth the tops.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Soak the cakes with sweet chai milk.
  10. Frost generously with brown butter cream cheese frosting.
  11. Serve and enjoy!
