Description

A cozy fall dessert of tender apples, bursting with warm spices and sweetness, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large apples
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup raisins or nuts (optional)
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup apple juice or cider

Instructions

  1. Start by coring the apples. Make several vertical cuts down the sides, stopping about 1/2 inch from the bottom.
  2. Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and the optional raisins or nuts in a mixing bowl.
  3. Stuff each apple with the brown sugar mixture, pressing it into the cuts.
  4. Place the apples in your slow cooker and add a pat of butter on top of each apple.
  5. Pour the apple juice or cider around the apples in the slow cooker.
  6. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 360-480 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
  7. Serve warm, topped with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream if desired.
