- 4 large apples
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup raisins or nuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup apple juice or cider
Instructions
- Start by coring the apples. Make several vertical cuts down the sides, stopping about 1/2 inch from the bottom.
- Combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, and the optional raisins or nuts in a mixing bowl.
- Stuff each apple with the brown sugar mixture, pressing it into the cuts.
- Place the apples in your slow cooker and add a pat of butter on top of each apple.
- Pour the apple juice or cider around the apples in the slow cooker.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 360-480 minutes, or until the apples are tender.
- Serve warm, topped with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream if desired.
