- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup cake flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for thinning the glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cake flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, melted butter, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract. Incorporate this mixture into the dry ingredients until well combined.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth and elastic, then roll it out into a large rectangle.
- Spread brown sugar and ground cinnamon evenly over the rolled-out dough.
- Roll the dough tightly from one side to form a log, and cut it into equal pieces.
- Place the cinnamon rolls on a greased baking tray and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until light and golden.
- While the rolls are baking, prepare the cream cheese glaze by mixing the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and enough milk to achieve the desired consistency.
- Drizzle the cream cheese glaze over the warm rolls as soon as they come out of the oven and serve them warm.
Notes
