Description

A comforting and delicious pan-seared ribeye steak, topped with rich garlic butter, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ribeye steaks
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh herbs (such as thyme or rosemary)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  1. Take the steaks out of the fridge and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot and shimmering, add the steaks to the skillet. Sear them for about 3-4 minutes on each side for a perfect medium-rare, or adjust time for your desired doneness.
  3. Add the minced garlic and fresh herbs to the skillet, letting them infuse their flavors into the oil.
  4. Add the unsalted butter to the skillet, allowing it to melt. Spoon the luscious, melted garlic butter over the steaks for a couple of minutes, ensuring they soak up all the rich flavors.
  5. Carefully remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes. Slice them and serve drizzled with that irresistible garlic butter.

Notes

Letting your steaks come to room temperature helps them cook evenly. Always slice against the grain for a more tender bite.
