Description
A comforting and delicious pan-seared ribeye steak, topped with rich garlic butter, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ribeye steaks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh herbs (such as thyme or rosemary)
- Salt
- Black pepper
Instructions
- Take the steaks out of the fridge and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot and shimmering, add the steaks to the skillet. Sear them for about 3-4 minutes on each side for a perfect medium-rare, or adjust time for your desired doneness.
- Add the minced garlic and fresh herbs to the skillet, letting them infuse their flavors into the oil.
- Add the unsalted butter to the skillet, allowing it to melt. Spoon the luscious, melted garlic butter over the steaks for a couple of minutes, ensuring they soak up all the rich flavors.
- Carefully remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes. Slice them and serve drizzled with that irresistible garlic butter.
Notes
Letting your steaks come to room temperature helps them cook evenly. Always slice against the grain for a more tender bite.
