Description

Enjoy nostalgic flavors with this easy-to-make homemade vanilla ice cream recipe, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Optional: 3/4 cup of your favorite mix-ins (chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or fresh fruit)

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until the sugar is fully dissolved. The mixture should be smooth and creamy.
  2. Chill: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Churn It: Pour the chilled mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. Mix In Extra Flavor: If you’d like to add any mix-ins, do this about 5 minutes before your ice cream is finished churning.
  5. Freeze: Once your ice cream reaches a soft-serve consistency, transfer it to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours.
  6. Serve: Scoop your homemade vanilla ice cream into bowls, top with your favorite sauce or fresh fruit, and enjoy!

Notes

Homemade ice cream is best enjoyed within a week, but can be stored for up to two weeks in an airtight container.
