Description

Create your own delicious pizza dough from scratch with this easy and versatile recipe, perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
  • 3 1/2 to 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm water and add sugar. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix 3 1/2 cups of flour and salt together in a large bowl. Create a well and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Stir until the mixture forms a sticky dough.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes, adding flour as needed until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a towel, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough to release the air, divide it, and roll out to desired thickness.
  7. Add toppings of your choice and bake at 475°F (245°C) for 12-15 minutes.

Notes

Make-ahead option: Prepare the dough up to 24 hours in advance. It can be frozen for later use.
