Description

A comforting cheesy casserole perfect for family dinners that children will love.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked pasta (penne or rotini)
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, shredded or diced (substitute with turkey bacon for a vegetarian twist)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets, steamed
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar)
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: breadcrumbs for topping, fresh herbs for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a casserole dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cooked pasta, shredded chicken, steamed broccoli, cream of chicken soup, and milk. Stir until evenly mixed.
  3. Sprinkle in garlic powder, salt, and pepper, and mix thoroughly.
  4. Fold in half of the shredded cheese until it melts into the mixture.
  5. Pour the pasta mix into the greased casserole dish, spreading it evenly. Top with remaining cheese and optional breadcrumbs.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead by preparing the casserole the night before and refrigerating. Leftovers can be stored for up to 3 days.
