- 12 oz tortellini (fresh or frozen)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or sausage)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat until browned, draining excess fat.
- Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix cooked tortellini, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese in a large bowl.
- Combine the tortellini mixture with the warm meat sauce, folding gently.
- Layer the tortellini and meat mixture in a greased baking dish, topping with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.
Notes
For variations, consider adding sautéed veggies, crushed red pepper, or drizzling with pesto. Can be made ahead and stored for later.
