A cozy and cheesy baked tortellini casserole that brings warmth to chilly evenings, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 12 oz tortellini (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 lb ground meat (beef, turkey, or sausage)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the ground meat in a skillet over medium heat until browned, draining excess fat.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Mix cooked tortellini, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese in a large bowl.
  5. Combine the tortellini mixture with the warm meat sauce, folding gently.
  6. Layer the tortellini and meat mixture in a greased baking dish, topping with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil and serve hot.

Notes

For variations, consider adding sautéed veggies, crushed red pepper, or drizzling with pesto. Can be made ahead and stored for later.
