Description

A comforting side dish of fresh green beans with crispy turkey bacon and a rich, savory garlic soy sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the turkey bacon grease in the skillet.
  2. Add the butter and let it melt, filling your kitchen with its warm aroma.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if you’re feeling a bit spicy.
  5. Add the fresh green beans and toss to coat them evenly in the sauce.
  6. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the green beans are tender but still crisp.
  7. Stir back in the crispy turkey bacon and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

Make-ahead option: Prep the green beans and sauce in advance, storing separately. For a vegetarian version, substitue turkey bacon with a plant-based alternative.
