Ingredients

- 4 cups potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup heavy cream or milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Boil the sliced potatoes in a large pot until just tender, about 5-7 minutes. Drain well.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the heavy cream and gradually add the cheese, stirring until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
- Layer half of the potatoes in a baking dish, then pour half of the cheese sauce over them. Repeat with the remaining potatoes and sauce.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the top is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
Make the layers in advance and bake the next day for an effortless meal. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
