Description
A delightful dessert of grilled pineapple coated with brown sugar, perfect for summer gatherings and cozy evenings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ripe pineapple
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
- Cooking spray or olive oil for the grill
Instructions
- Prepare the pineapple: Slice off the top and bottom of the pineapple for stability. Stand it upright and slice off the outer skin, removing any eyes. Cut the pineapple into thick slices or wedges, about 1-inch thick.
- Make the sugar mixture: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Coat the pineapple: Generously sprinkle the brown sugar mixture over both sides of each pineapple slice. Let them sit for a few minutes.
- Prep the grill: Preheat your grill to medium heat and lightly spray the grill grates with cooking spray or brush them with olive oil.
- Grill the pineapple: Place the pineapple slices directly on the grill. Grill for 3-4 minutes on each side or until grill marks appear and the sugar caramelizes.
- Serve and enjoy: Remove the pineapple from the grill. Serve warm, either plain or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Consider adding a drizzle of lime juice for extra zing or sprinkle some shredded coconut after grilling for a tropical touch.
