- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup strawberries, chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded coconut (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix together the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil until well combined. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth, then stir in the chopped strawberries, and optional coconut and nuts.
- Spoon the creamy mixture over the batter in the pan, then pour the remaining cake batter on top.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool before slicing and serving.
Notes
Make a day in advance and store in refrigerator. Use a hot knife for clean cuts.
