Description

A warm and nourishing dish of roasted cabbage steaks, crispy on the edges and tender at the heart, perfect for any meal.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • Grated cheese (such as Parmesan or cheddar, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Slice the cabbage into 1-inch thick steaks.
  3. Mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Brush both sides of the cabbage steaks with the olive oil mixture.
  5. Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet and drizzle with balsamic vinegar, if desired.
  6. Roast in the oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Sprinkle grated cheese on top in the last 5 minutes of roasting, if desired.
  8. Serve warm as a side dish or main course.

Notes

Make-ahead magic: Roast the cabbage steaks in advance and reheat before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
