Description

A healthy twist on classic burgers, these oven-baked cabbage burgers provide all the comfort of a traditional burger with a rejuvenating crunch.


Ingredients

  • 1 small head Cabbage (cut into thick slices)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil (for brushing)
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or Turkey (or ground chicken or plant-based options)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 large Egg (optional, for binding)
  • 1 cup Cheese (for sprinkling on top)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Take your cabbage head and cut it into thick slices.
  3. Brush both sides of the cabbage slices with olive oil.
  4. Combine the ground beef or turkey, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, and the egg in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Form the meat mixture into patties.
  6. Place the meat patties atop the cabbage slices on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Sprinkle cheese generously on top of each patty.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes until cooked through.
  9. Let them cool slightly before enjoying.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
