Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices of Italian bread
- 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in diced tomatoes, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Toast Italian bread slices on a baking sheet for about 5 minutes, until golden.
- Remove bread and spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto each slice.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the mixture.
- Return to oven and bake for another 5-7 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
This dish can be made ahead of time. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for a crispy finish.
