Description

A tender, moist cake infused with the rich flavor of Irish whiskey, perfect for cozy occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Irish whiskey (or a non-alcohol substitute)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the Irish whiskey and vanilla extract.
  5. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chopped nuts if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before turning it out onto a wire rack.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
