- 1 lb chicken thighs (boneless skinless, cut into 2” pieces)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp flour (or gluten-free flour)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 3 garlic cloves (sliced thinly)
- 1 tbsp avocado oil
- 1/4 cup honey
- 4 tbsp cold unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- Finely chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Prep the Chicken: Cut the chicken thighs into 2-inch pieces and toss in a mixture of cornstarch, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until coated.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat avocado oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook chicken until golden brown and crispy, about 8 minutes per side.
- Add the Garlic: Sauté sliced garlic in the same pan until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Make the Honey Butter Sauce: Reduce heat, then add butter and stir in honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and a splash of water until the sauce thickens.
- Serve: Toss the chicken in the sauce, garnish with parsley, and serve hot.
Notes
You can prepare the chicken and coating in advance. Store in the refrigerator until ready to cook. Leftovers can be kept in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
