Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella balls
  • ½ cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic glaze (or reduced balsamic vinegar)

Instructions

  1. Combine olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper in a zip-top bag or shallow dish. Add flank steak and coat thoroughly. Refrigerate and marinate for at least 60 minutes, or up to 480 minutes to enhance the flavor.
  2. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and grill for 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  3. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes after grilling to ensure tender, juicy slices. Once rested, slice thinly against the grain.
  4. Toss together the cherry tomatoes, fresh mozzarella balls, and chopped basil in a mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and season with a pinch of salt.
  5. Arrange the sliced steak and Caprese salad on a serving platter. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving for a finishing touch.
