Ingredients

  • 4 overripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease your loaf pan.
  2. Mash the overripe bananas until smooth and set aside.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. Add in the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture, then beat well.
  5. Sift together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the wet mixture, then fold gently.
  6. Fold in three-fourths of the chocolate chips, then transfer the batter to your prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool the bread in the pan for at least 20 minutes before turning onto a wire rack.
