Description

A guilt-free take on a classic favorite, this Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan features a crispy exterior and gooey cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in the beaten egg, then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and lay the coated chicken breasts in a single layer.
  5. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Add marinara sauce on top of each chicken breast in the last 2 minutes, then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with parsley if desired.

Notes

For extra crispiness, let the coated chicken rest for 10 minutes before cooking. Prep the chicken and breadcrumbs the night before for easy cooking.
