Description

A nostalgic and heartwarming recipe for cinnamon swirl banana bread, perfect for using ripe bananas and bringing warmth to your kitchen.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix the melted butter with the mashed bananas until creamy.
  3. Stir in the baking soda and pinch of salt.
  4. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Fold in the flour until just combined.
  6. Combine the cinnamon and brown sugar in a separate bowl.
  7. Layer half the batter into the greased loaf pan, sprinkle with half the cinnamon sugar, then add the remaining batter on top.
  8. Swirl the batter gently with a knife and add the remaining cinnamon sugar on top.
  9. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  10. Let it cool in the pan for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

This banana bread can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for 2 days or frozen for up to a month. Use a serrated knife for even slices.
