- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and butter until creamy and well combined.
- Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar, and continue to beat until fluffy and smooth.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Don’t overmix!
- Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, giving each one enough space to spread.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown and the cookies look set.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For added flavor, try nuts, dried fruit, or seasonal spices. The dough can be made ahead and refrigerated for up to 3 days.
