Description

This easy pulled chicken recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, offering a sweet, tender flavor that can be enjoyed in sandwiches, tacos, or on its own.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, with fat trimmed off
  • 1 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder, then place them in the bottom of your crockpot.
  3. Add the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce to a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture over the chicken breasts, making sure they’re well coated.
  5. Cook on high for 150-180 minutes or low for 300-360 minutes.
  6. Check that the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  7. Shred the chicken using two forks in the crockpot to soak up the flavor.
  8. Serve on buns or enjoy with your choice of sides.

Notes

This BBQ chicken can be prepared a day in advance and stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Freezes well for up to 3 months.
