Description

A cozy homemade banana bread filled with gooey mini chocolate chips, perfect for chilly days and holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas until well combined.
  4. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until creamy.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and gently mix them in.
  6. Stir in the flour until just combined. A few lumps are okay!
  7. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  9. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use overripe bananas for the best flavor. This recipe also works in muffin tins with reduced baking time. Store wrapped tightly to keep fresh and freeze for up to 3 months.
